Aniimo Egg Locations: Spawns and Hatching
Aniimo egg locations explained: where Eggs spawn in nests across Idyll, the Twine and puzzle gates, non-map sources, and how Hatchinator hatching works.
Short answer: Eggs in Aniimo mostly sit in Nests - on cliff ledges, tree branches and ruins, frequently behind a puzzle or a Twine-gated approach - and any Egg becomes a random Aniimo once you drop it into a Hatchinator and wait out its rarity-based timer.
This page is deliberately shaped as "how to find eggs anywhere" rather than a frozen coordinate table. Aniimo's world (Idyll) gets patched, and a hard-coded list goes stale; the durable answer is what Nests look like, what gates them, and where the non-map eggs come from. Everything below follows the community guide linked in the sources, labelled single source.

The tells: what a Nest looks like
Per the community guide, look for three things:
| Tell | What it means |
|---|---|
| Ground that sparkles "a little too much" | A placed collectible, not ambient decoration |
| A cliff ledge that seems placed on purpose | A designer wanted you up there - check for a Nest |
| A gnarled branch that bends the wrong way | Eggs sit on branches as often as on stone |
Some Nests sit behind a genuine puzzle: the guide describes burning through a hedge, dropping into a burrow, or climbing a stack of rock pillars before the Egg is reachable.
The Twine gate
A recurring gate is elemental: certain spots only open if you Twine with a specific elemental Aniimo - the game's traversal-bonding mechanic - to reach or unlock the Nest. Practically, this means your egg-hunting route depends on which elementals you have bonded: if a ledge refuses you, the answer is usually "come back with the right element", not "you missed the egg". Where eggs come from besides the map
Nests are not the only source. The guide lists:
- Operation Egg Heist - the PvEVP mode also pays out eggs
- The Companion Handbook - progression rewards
- Core Courses and select Journey Quests - quest completions
That last group matters if you are hunting a specific rarity: mode and quest eggs arrive on a schedule you control, while nest eggs are exploration luck.
Hatching: the Hatchinator
Every egg works the same way. It is an item, not a creature, and nothing happens until you place it in a Hatchinator. The hatch timer scales with the egg's rarity tier - from a few minutes to several hours - and the Aniimo that comes out is random within that tier. (community guide)
The efficient loop is therefore: fill your egg inventory from every source, batch them into the Hatchinator, and play something else while the timers run - the wait times, not the finding, are the actual bottleneck.
The community map
For spot-by-spot tracking, the community keeps an interactive map (linked in sources). Treat it as a complement to the tells above: maps drift out of date after content patches, while the tells and the Twine logic keep working.

FAQ
- Where do you find Eggs in Aniimo?
- Most Eggs sit in Nests on cliffs, tree branches and ruins across Idyll, often behind a small traversal puzzle or a spot that requires you to Twine with a specific elemental Aniimo to reach. They are also given out by Operation Egg Heist, the Companion Handbook, Core Courses and select Journey Quests. (community guide, single source)
- How do Eggs hatch in Aniimo?
- Eggs are items, not creatures. Drop one into a Hatchinator and it hatches into a random Aniimo after a wait time that runs from a few minutes to several hours depending on the Egg's rarity tier. (community guide)
- Is there a map of exact Egg locations?
- The community-maintained interactive map (linked above) tracks found spots; the in-world tells are sparkle-heavy ground, deliberately placed cliff ledges and oddly bent tree branches. Exact coordinates change as patches add content, which is why this page teaches the tells rather than a frozen list. (community-sourced)
- Do Eggs respawn?
- The source guide does not document respawn rules per nest, so this page will not invent them. What is documented: eggs also enter your inventory through modes and quests, which does not depend on nests. (boundary stated, not guessed)
